“The growing season leading up to the 2023 vintage started with a dry and warm winter followed by optimal growing conditions. The weather during ripening was lovely and cool, which gave grapes some extra hang time while retaining their acids, all fundamental for an exceptional vintage.

The resulting wines have wonderful tension and energy, fantastic analysis and tannin structure — all indicators of a vintage that will stand the test of time.  These can be cellared and aged, but they are also great to enjoy now, especially if you prefer your reds with some extra tension and energy.

A warm winter in 2023 and a very dry January 2024 restricted growth, resulting in tiny berries and very little juice. 2024 was our smallest harvest in years! The great thing with a low yield is that the wines end up with beautiful concentration and length. These are set to be powerful wines, built to age for a decade at least, so don’t be afraid to put some away — but please drink some of them now to enjoy their youthful lushness and energy!”
